DAM Software Update For Control Panel 10/10/2020 - Digital Advertising Media - (Digital Signage, Billboards and Menu Boards)

DAM Software Update For Control Panel 10/10/2020

he DAM Control Panel Software latest version is 4.9.4.

I added a feature to the Desktop Control Panel to help you create YouTube Ads. Yes, you can create other type video Ads, but YouTube is the easiest and completely free to use.

Step 1: Run the Desktop Control Panel software and click on the “YouTube Video Ads” tab

Step 2: Go to YouTube and find a video that plays in the Test Video area. If it doesn’t play here it won’t play on your digital billboard systems out on location. The reason for this could be one a few things like the settings of that video at YouTube itself. Some videos like Music Videos are blocked from sharing and must be played on the site itself. Others are blocked from embedding so I suggest you create your own account and upload videos for your clients while making sure you have the access to public. You can have it unlisted or visible, but it must be set to public.

Step 3: Once you have a video that plays you can decide what type of video Ad you want to create. This tool will not create the Ad for you, but will tell you how to name your jpg image file that will be used to stream the video on your Ad Server (digital billboard system).

Step 4: Now click on the YouTube Video type which are “V_” or one of the “H_” types. The “V_” type produces a random video that shows after 5 or so static ads. While the “H_” type of video are programmable and can either be set to show on a specific day and time or daily at a specific time. The daily news or TV shows are best for this type of format.

Once selected you will get a file naming convention to use for your jpg image used to create this “Trigger Image” with. A Trigger Image is any jpg image that’s named in a very specific way to trigger the software to do something other than display the image. In this case t calls up a video to stream. You can see all the Trigger Image types here

Step 5: After you save your image using this name you can upload it to your Ad Server via the DAM Ad Manager website here.

I hope this help a little at least with YouTube videos. Other types of videos have a different name conventions and some even use a standard text file that holds the very complicated URL to stream. See these here.
